The COMPANIONS: SA’D IBN MU’AATH

Al-Baraa ibn ‘Aazib related that once when Allaah’s Messenger (PBUH) was given a silk garment and people were amazed by its beauty and softness, he said:“Sa‘d ibn Mu‘aath’s handkerchief in paradise is better than this.” Sa‘d was the leader of the Aws tribe of Madeenah who converted to Islaam at the hands of Mus‘ab ibn ‘Umayr before the Prophet’s migration. He was with the Prophet (PBUH) in the Battle of Badr and Uhud, and was seriously wounded by an arrow during the Battle of the Trench (637 CE).
